SHPIK

SHPIK - is the representative organization of professionals working in the field of IT in the Republic of Kosovo.

Project Objective

The objective of the project is to strengthen the Kosovar ICT sector.
The project will contribute to the achievement of following Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
• creation of income (SDG 8)
• creation of training opportunities (SDG 4)
• strengthening the Kosovar private sector (SDG 9).

Expected results of this project

The expected results of this project are:
• Strengthening of SHPIK (pronounced in German Spick) – The Kosovar Association of ICT Professionals and Businesses
• Creation of education-, professional development- and networking within and beyond the
ICT sector
• Creation of new jobs in ICT sector
• Representation of the interests of ICT stakeholders, including:

  • ICT experts
  • ICT teachers
  • ICT DUAL VET Schools and other Education Institutions
  • ICT Students

• Ensure that the existing needs of ICT stakeholders can be addressed.

Measures

For students and professionals in the ICT sector, the structures implemented by SHPIK will create
opportunities to deepen their professional skills and to promote an exchange among themselves and
with companies, schools or universities.
For this purpose, project will focus on development and implementation of:
• Matching platform of ICT DUAL VET school students and ICT Businesses
• Trainings for digital competences
• Coding Clubs across the country

• Mentoring program for Women in Science, Technology and Leadership Positions “Donna-
Informatica”

• Networking groups (Special Interest Groups /SIG), through hackathons
• Training of learners in the ICT field
• Organization of national ICT Skills Competition League for young people, as well as
• Publications of studies, magazines and newsletters.

Project Duration

Project will last 24 months and is financed through Strategic Partnership Measure of Austrian Development Cooperation and
Austrian Development Agency.
